Why are we supporting the SPSAS Pet Bank?
Recently we saw a feature in the Daily Echo about a new initiative for folks who are struggling to feed their much-loved animals, or to provide cat litter and other essentials for their loved pets.
The charity is new to Southampton and is run by Nicola Booth and Gemma Murphy of SPSAS who are organising this fundraiser. They were asking for people to support them and for local business to get involved.
What’s the SPSAS Pet Bank?
We are seeing a lot of members who are struggling to feed their much-loved animals, or to provide cat litter and other essentials for their loved pets. As you have probably seen in the media this is a UK wide crisis and rehoming centres are full of pets whose owners have had no choice but to give them up. We would like to take this pressure off and have now started a Pet Bank in the local area of Southampton.
We made contact with them and offered to have a donations bin and pot in our shop for them in hope to raise money for what’s a very good cause.
If you’d like to help them out you can visit their fundraiser here: https://gofund.me/028d73bb
If you’d like to learn more about them – go to their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/spsaspetbank/about
Alternatively next time you pop in, bring some supplies or drop a quid or two into the collection pot on our counter.
Regards
Nick and Charlie
About SPSAS

SPSAS is a charitable company for single parents all over the UK. We aim to combat isolation and loneliness through uniting as a community. We have sub groups to help members with mental health support, domestic abuse support, parents with children with additional needs. We are aiming to support single parents to gain access to services which normally have long waiting lists or costs involved so they are unable to access them. This now includes emergency food and energy top ups.
